Ogden, UT January 9, 2024 – During COP28, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a final ruling to tackle methane emissions from oil and gas operations. The ruling includes New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) to curb methane emissions from process controllers as well as pneumatic pumps, compressor seals, storage tanks, and more. The new NSPS is also known as Quad-O (OOOOb and OOOOc).
Qnergy’s patent-pending Compressed Air Pneumatics (CAP) product line replaces methane emissions from process controllers with clean, dry, freeze-free air. CAP products may be electrified with grid power or powered by Qnergy’s low-maintenance free piston Stirling Engine generator. These systems offer the lowest cost compliance with minimal OpEx, redundant compressors, and one hour per year maintenance. In the last five years, Qnergy has been a trusted partner of the natural gas industry with more than 2,000 units installed across the U.S. and Canada.
The Corporate Program enables easy deployment without changes to site architecture across entire asset bases. The plan includes favorable pricing, predictable supply schedule, proven operational uptime, and automated methane reporting.
“The new EPA ruling is easy to meet with our technology,” said Dr. Ory Zik, Qnergy CEO. “We have expanded our capacity to meet the surging demand and customer expectations.”
